Living room

The living room was in a pretty good shape, complete with a very Old Townesque tilt to the floor. I choose not to do any major changes in this room.

When the window frames were changed I also took the opportunity to change the windowsill and the frame in the window nook.

The ugly glass fiber reinforced tapestry from the 60s was plastered over and painted. New handmade skirting board (base board) and door frames where put in place.

The bad loft stayed. Even though it takes some of the space away froom the room it is very convenient since it frees the floor space for other uses. Since the room has such a high ceiling you can stand under the loft without having to bow your head.

Painting the loft in a lighter color made it feel less volumptous.

Here you can see the door to the wardrobe, as well as the old doorway space on the left. A new handmade door for the wardrobe was put in place instead of the modern one that had been put in. In the doorway space Mickael Lundin built a linnen cabinet. Well needed in this small appartment.

A picture of the amazing handpainted ceiling in the living room. This was painted in the late 17th century by the same man that has done paintings in the royal castle in Drottningholm.

My appartment is the only one in the house with a preserved ceiling!
